Preparing for Spring

Spring may not start officially until March 19, but many in the community are preparing for warmer weather. 

 

Riparian Planting Event 

The City of Elkins is partnering with Beaver Watershed Alliance and several other agencies to host a riparian planting event 10am to 12noon on Friday, March 8. Sign up by March 1. Lunch and supplies will be provided. Please RSVP to emily@beaverwatershedalliance.org

 

Seed/Plant Swap

Elkins Farmers Market will host a seed/plant swap along with a vendor meet and greet 1pm to 3pm, Saturday, March 9, at Harris Baptist Church. They are also accepting vendor applications now! 

 

Daylight Savings 

This is a near country-wide event, but Daylight Savings Time starts March 10. 

 

New Market Hours

The Goshen Farmers Market doesn’t start until May, but they are gearing up for the season now. The organization recently announced new hours for the season (5pm to 7:30pm every Thursday May through August and 5-7 September through October 17). They are also seeking a food truck for the season.
