We are excited to share that a local, grassroots group called the Elkins Business Alliance has been working to form the first Elkins Arkansas Chamber of Commerce (EACC). We've been announcing their monthly meetings for several months, and we are delighted to let you know that they are officially launching at the 4th on the River Celebration, sponsored by the City of Elkins. The event is on July 3 at Bunch Park. You can learn more about the new chamber and sign up as a member during that event.

This organization has been formed by local business owners for local and regional businesses. The EACC has already participated in its first community event, as several local business owners joined together to provide lunch for teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week in May. The 4th on the River is their second event, with more in the works! These events help local businesses get involved with the community and get their name out there for people to see. 

Interested in joining? The memberships are affordable and are renewed annually. You can join as an individual, business, or nonprofit organization: 

• Individual: $50
• Nonprofit Club/organization: $50
• Small Business (1-5 full-time employees): $50
• Small Business (6-10 FT employees): $100
• Medium Business (11-20 FT employees): $200
• Large Business (21 or more FT employees): $300

Some folks have asked us if ECN will still exist if a chamber starts up and the answer is a resounding yes! We will keep our business registry and the EACC will create a registry of its members. We likely won't be starting up our own business networking meetings and will instead promote what the EACC creates. This newsletter will continue as will our desire to help our community grow in a smart and sustainable way! 

The EACC will have a Facebook page and website soon, and we will share that information as soon as it's available! The next meeting is 6pm, June 8, at 6 Arrows Coffee Shop.
