Elkins Holiday Expo this Saturday

Expo a highlight of many holiday celebrations throughout Elkins


ELKINS – The Elkins community will be alive with holiday spirit this Saturday, December, 3, as multiple stores and organziations are hosting holiday-related events.


The largest event will be the Elkins Holiday Expo, which is hosted by the Elkins Community Network with cooperation from the Elkins Lions Club and the Elkins Robotics Club. It will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Elkins Community Center (162 Doolin).


The event, in its third year, will feature:

  • Vendors that offer a variety of holiday shopping options including food, crafts, and more,
  • A toy/clothing/food drive that supports the Christmas Treasures program through the Elkins Public Schools,
  • Ornament and playdough circuit making for kids, and
  • Hot chocolate and cookies.


Just across the lawn from the Elkins Community Center will be the first Holiday Open House in two years at the Elkins Public Library (352 N. Center). The annual event was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID. A joint open house between the Friends of the Elkins Public Library and the Library Board of Directors, the Open House will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. It will feature a Santa-themed Storytime at 1 p.m. and pictures at 11 a.m. There will be snacks and lots of holiday cheer!

Two local stores are hosting Open Houses that holiday shoppers will not want to miss! NWArt Refuge is opening Dec. 3 for their two-month pop-up gallery for fine craftsmen and artists. They will be located at 2131 N. Center Street (Fayetteville address located in Elkins City limits). They are still seeking more artists and craftsmen to participate with sellable, quality pieces including glassworks, sculpture, outdoor furniture, etc. For more information, contact TJ Lyn at NWArtRefuge@gmail.com. A fourth offering will be at a local boutique, Gypsy Rose, is hosting a Winter Market/Open House with all of its vendors 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 2684 Hollybrooke. This event, which will feature food trucks, a silent auction to support the Elkins Shop with a Cop program, shopping, and gift wrapping, etc. This event is in cooperation with Reliable Tax & Accounting.
