The annual community-wide celebration, Elkfest, returns from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, April 25, at the Elkins Community Center and Bunch Park.

The festivities actually kicked off at the end of March with the Miss Elkfest Pageant. The queens from that pageant will be volunteering at the April 25 event. Be sure to tell them congratulations!

Organizers created a few new events this year that are part of the overall festivities:

• Winners of the mullet contest will be announced on stage the day of the event.
• Bingo will be available in the park 1pm to 3pm that day with cards being $1 each There will be prizes for the bingo winners!
• A Baggo tournament is being developed with teams being established ahead of time. Bags fly at 1pm in Bunch Park and it’s $30 per team. Interested in participating? Email elkinselkfest@gmail.com.
• Both the Elkins Art Cart and the Elkins Pokemon Club will be at the Community Center to offer projects and card trading, respectively!

Elkfest will also include several traditional features, including food and vendors! Vendors are still being accepted, and the deadline to apply is April 10. The vendors will be in and around the community center. The food trucks include BBQ, Cajun, Kettlecorn, Sno Cones, and more.

We encourage you to follow Elkfest on Facebook to keep up with all the plans and to join them on April 25!
