When people move to a town or even if they have errands or a day trip planned to an area, they will often go to the local community's chamber page or another site to learn what businesses are in that community. People often ask "why should we sign up for your registry if the City of Elkins has one, too?" Good question. The City of Elkins Business Directory is only for those businesses that require a city license and it doesn't include most home-based businesses and it only includes those that are in the city limits. That business directory has its purpose, for sure.

But our free registry includes the opportunity for a wider range of businesses to participate including businesses in our area but not technically in the city limits, home-based businesses, and more. All information is provided by the business. We are not responsible for missing or outdated information.
