April 20 Busy Community Day

April 20 will be an active day in Elkins and the surrounding area! Mark your calendars and you can likely be able to visit each event that is happening if you and your family so wish!

Elkfest

The third Elkfest will be 9am to 3pm in Bunch Park. A committee of community members has been in charge of planning the event this year and we are excited to see the fruits of their labor!

The festivities actually begin on April 6 with the Miss Elkfest Pageant by Frederick Pageants, LLC. The winners will be at Elkfest!

On the day of the event, here is what is planned so far:

There will be music at various times throughout the day but the committee would love more musicians who are willing and able to play for free!

The Elkins Lion’s Club will host biscuits and gravy breakfast and Nellie B’s will also be there with breakfast pastries! Tequila Grill will be selling nachos later and they will have at least one food truck! Come hungry!

The committee also will host about 30 vendors inside and outside the community center. We’ve seen the list of vendors and we think you’re going to love the variety!

Collier Drugs and Hyland Park Church will team up to present the Kid Zone with games, inflatables, and lots of fun!

Spring Season Kickoff

The City of Elkins Sports Complex will host its first Spring Season Kickoff, Saturday April 20 from 11am-2pm. Come by the sports complex anytime during that time to grab some lunch, check out vendors, try out bats, enter raffles, and purchase tickets for their Naturals fundraiser.

Goshen Plant Sale

The Goshen Farmers Market will host an Earth Day annual plant sale. Local growers will have various vegetables, fruit, herb, and flower starts for sale. It is the perfect time to get your garden rolling after the threat of our last frost! It’s also a great opportunity to learn tips and tricks for your garden from your very knowledgeable and skilled neighbors! The plant sale is 10am-12pm at the Goshen Community Building.
